Dios Mio! :scream:
The Bulldog was at the UN today. Perez-Roque for those who don't know who or what he is.
He said some stupidity about Cuba and Venezuela forming an alliance like the old Soviet Block. He stated Cuba was willing to give up it's sovereignty to Venezuela and adopt a new flag.
I think Marti, El Indio Hatuey and Maceo all jumped in their graves.
I try not to listen too much. No es facil. :ghetto:

But Wotan, hasn't Fidel's mantra for the last 50 years been Cuba's Sovereignty and not selling themselves to the USA?
But Mercy,
Think about it.....it would be how they claim victory. Now they have access to the world's greatest commodity....and Venezuela gets more doctorcitos and sports trainers.
By "joining" Chavez' parade, they now have "legitimacy" .......and didn't have to give in to the US.
What does Chavez get? An opportunity to be at the "door" and making threats.......which you know how that will go over. Probably less politically correctly than the Cuban missle crisis did.
He'll just get smoked..........or better yet, have his head separated from his body via hanging, i.e. Saddamm and his entourage.
There is no excuse on this planet for Cuba to give up its Sovereignty.
DATS DAT!
There is probably a lot more to this than we know. I'm sure Chavez, who has been building a "friendly" relationship with Cuba for several years now, has presented some economic stipulations that make it irrestible for Cuba not to bite, i.e. back to the days of a true "sugar daddy".
Chavez, thru the relationship of the past few years, can now go before both nations and talk about how they have both benefited from the relationship and how that "Cubazuela" will become the eutopia of leftist "morality", a force that will bring the US to its knees.
I suspect that there are a few other left leaning countries is Latin America who would like to join the alliance in order to get some of Chavez' oil, of course, in trade for straw hats or whatever it is that the indios can produce.
Man, talk about a cold war.........I had hoped I had already lived thru that! Isn't there a saying about history repeating itself?
