We're staying at a good hotel in Habana Vieja. I like to bring my laptop with me because I like to back up my photos at the end of each day. There is also internet access at the hotel, so I may use it to send an e-mail or two, but I mostly just want to be able to back up my photos.

Should I or shouldn't I?

There's no treason why you can't bring a laptop into Cuba. I did it in 2003 so why would things be different now?

Go for it Amigo! You might be asked questions at Cuba Customs but don't worry. This is your personal journal of your vacation. OK?

Buen Viaje!

Yes, I also took my laptop with me when once I visited it. There was not any restriction to keep it with us. As I also advice you to keep your camera also with you. So that you can capture some of the natural scenes through it.

If you're a serious amateur photographer then a laptop and external back-up hard drives are essential. There are lots of way to easily ensure the laptop and peripherals are safe and secure - even as an independent traveller, let alone at a resort.
