The Colombian salsa group Sonora Carruseles is great (at least I like them). Got to see them play at the Calle Ocho festival earlier in the month and they were hot.

not really an issue mate. Chocha (locally "cuca") is available, and as a matter of fact, there are some girls who will fuck you "sin compromisos", (though of course you will pay for their cabs and entertainment costs, (drinks, etc))

In Colombia that stuff is pretty cheap. A big night out with chicas might run you $50 the most. I spent that last night on myself drinking in a bar in Manhattan.

quite true, except if you are going to find such girls, you need to be here for slightly longer than say a week's vacation and if you are here for a long(er) vacation you tend to get frugal with your money and or start thinking in Colombian terms.
Either way, of course I will agree that spending say 50K (25USD) on a night out knowing your knob will be polished and taken care of sure as hell beats a night out in the US, where for 50 bucks and more you will have some 5 tell you to go fuck yourself (the same 5 will then proceed to go home and eat chocolate icecream stuffing herself while crying and moaning how there are no "good men" around)
You just have to pace yourself. You go out on the weekend like you might do at home. During the week, you sit in the room watching CNN. If you get horny, you either jerk off or go out and get a 10k BJ. Of course you can get a steady girl but Colombia is a bad place to try to be monogamous.

weekends are not particularly good for meeting girls. Lot of them tend to be accompanied then.
