I would like to book a fishing trip out of Varadero. Anyone have any experience with this? I'm prepared to spend up to $300 or $400 for a full day. Not sure if this is something I should book through the hotel or ? In varadero town are there places to book directly with the boat operator? Any info appreciated even if you have not gone on one yourself. Perhaps you have seen tour stands that sell these excursions? Thanks!
It would be impossible to book with a private operater everything is controled by the state if one is even available in varadero ?? must be arranged only through a hotel cuban tour operator after all if you are looking for something in that price range I wouldnt be looking for something mickey mouse .

I can take you fishing in Varadero for $300 to $400/day no problem. Actually, if you buy me the ticket to Cuba, I'll only charge $200/day for fishing. I know some amazing spots.
True! All trips are offered by the tour operators stationed at the hotels.

BTW: Don't expect to go alone, without a Cuban guide. You see, you just might take off for Florida, with a stowaway stowed away. LOL.

You plan beach holidays 8 months in advance? You're the most anal person I've ever seen. Are you going to take a month to plan each day?

Where are you from
I have seen many boats leave the marina mornings and evenings in varadero I can only say ;most of their seaworthyness and dependebility leaves a lot to be desired most are in the range of eighteen to twenty feet ;very few cabin cruisers ; mostly the open type with some shade using one lungers for power ;Alot of them even stay out all night in the gulf returning first thing in the morning stopping in the canal to catch herring for next days fishing . One hell of a way to make an existance day after day ;but some love it ;but beats having some hefe or boss with his nose stuck up your culo all day
