Hello,
Just a general query on local customs in Cuna as regards the type of costumes/bikinis that one can wear on the beaches. Also, is topless bathing allowed?
You can wear what ever you want as long as it is in the realm of decency ;As far as toppless it is tolerated for tourists but any self respecting cuban lady wouldnt be caught dead without a bathing suit top on they just dont do it ; Going topless a few years ago was quite prevelent by the euros but you dont see it anymore so much; I guess maybe its a generation thing ??

Cayo Largo has an area where "clothing optional" is accepted. It's away from the hotels, but some wander towards them!
On local Cuban beaches - no toples allowed !!!
Where is this "Cuna"at ? or are you referring to an old Cuban Book called "Cuna del Daiquiri" Written about Bacardi recipes in 1939, if you have one I'll buy it.
Probably worth $300 US.
Or did you mean Cuba ? LOL

I have been to Veradero; Holguin area; Los Tunas. This last time I spent 3 wonderful weeks in Habana. I was very impressed by the wonderful beaches East of the city, most notable "La playa del este - Santa Maria" It is about a 45 minute drive out of the city and a prearanged price for a legal taxi was $25 CUC pickup and return to my casa.

Bueno, para la cuna quizas andan desnudos porque son bebes, no?

As far as costumes go, it depends on the occasion. If its easter, furry bunny suits are common on the beach in Varadero. Halloween is a little less formal and any costume is appropriate. But if it is something heavy that gets waterlogged easy, it might be a good idea to swim in the shallow parts of the beach.

Depends where you go I suppose. When I went there were a lot of Europeans at the resort I stayed. If you are bringing children, be aware that some of the beaches are clothing optional.

Why do you just recommend the "Victoria inn Bed and Breakfast"? Is that in Cuba too?

There are so many really good ones. Varadero, Playa Ancon. Guardalavaca, Santa Lucia, Cayo Coco are all excellent. My favorite of them was Playa Ancon although it was not the longest by a long shot
