The Green Screen

Hi everybody!
I am planning my trip to Cuba, after some days spent in Havana we want to move South-East and explore the area around Cienfuegos. As far as I could learn reading here and there, the interesting places around there are Cienfuegos itself, Trinidad, Remedios and Santa Clara. So, my question is: what's the best idea for the accomodation? Is taking one city as a base a good idea? And which city is the ideal solution?
