Hi,im planning to go to cuba for 2 months with my girlfriend and our baby.
My girlfriend wants to one day teach salsa in italy but first must learn well.
I will be taking care of the baby while she takes lessons and practices a lot-thats the theory.we also want to see the island.please tell me what you would do as a couple if you had 2 months like this.we like the nature we like the cities we like to travel, however the salsa is the priority and we need to find salsa schools and teachers, any recommendations? we will have a budget of about 2500us dollars to spend. Please please help as this is a big dream for my girlfriend and i want her to have a wonderful time.
$2500 US? Are you kidding? Learning salsa, means most likely you'll be in and around Havana. For 2 months you say? Not on $2500 US unless for 2 months in Havana. Not with a family.
Yikes. The thought of spending 2 months in Cuba makes my hair fall out.

Good luck to you with the Salsa classes.

Hi Hellovn,
You guys are going to have a great trip. Ok, I'm assuming the 2500 dollars does not include the flights (otherwise a 2 month trip would be nearly impossible). Is it 2500 total for the both of you, or 2500 for each? 2500 for both of you is doable but you'll have to live like a Cuban, not like a tourist. Don't go to the restaurants, get your food at the agromercardos, agree with your casa that you can cook in their kitchen. Learn the bus systems

I recommend Santiago. The dancing there is much better and it's a lot cheaper than La Habana. In the low season, you should be able to find a casa for 10-13 dollars with some bargaining. Also, don't go to a school. Find a private teacher who you can pay under the table and teach you in your casa. If you go to a professional school in either city you will pay at least 10 dollars per hour. I have done a 2 month trip to Santiago with a similar goal, and was connected with a salsa group (by the way, down there it's called casino). I did performances with them as well. I will locate the contact info and send it your way.
Best,

I always wanted to go Cuba! I just love how they love the music and How they dance!
Cuba's salsa clubs offer the most exhilarating, friendly and fun way to step into the heart of the island. The Cuban style developed into a very relaxed, passionate and expressive style where your personality gets to shine as much as your dance steps on a salsa holiday!
