Awwww, this cancion brings back such memories. One summer it was all over the place. Waiting for a band to come on at (now defunct) Hola Hola, it came on the sound system & EVERYBODY sang along. It became a kind of running gag with Sr Esposo & me, whenever anything went awry, I’d say quien tiro la tiza? He’d always answer el negro…
A Cuban amigo had made me a homemade copy along with some others on the street, (like El Chinito from Candyman) I ended up giving it away to the latino music buyer at a Hollywood store who was married to a cubana he met over there. At that time, he wasn’t traveling to the island very much & was not familiar with this song. I wished I’d made a copy to keep.

I remember it as more of a stripped down sound rather than arrangement on Youtube, more like this:
