Welll my favourite thing in the world, almost, is Cuban son..I love this band

Elito Reve video

My other favourite song is an old one, by Elio Reve, I heard at Marea del Portillo on my 2nd trip, and the entertainment group was dancing rueda (my first time seeing it). I have a home video of them dancing to this song, so fond memories. Enjoy.

Thanks for the video. I met Reve one night in El Palermo. Kind of a jinetera bar, but he was with a group of "normal" people. I got his business card somewhere. Nice vid, thanks.
thanks Zelig. Sorry moderator, I put this post in wrong category, could you put it in Cuban music section. Thanks.
Enjoyed the vids. Surely music & dance run in their sangre.

Really enjoy and like that.
This is very nice.
Yanet. You want me to move a thread? You are funny. I have no clue! Just leave it where it is since most people found it.

I am glad to see we still have lurkers out there who are posting on the GS.

About a week ago, I was sincerely considering shutting this Board down. But when I see replies from people who usually don't post, it gives me fuel for thought.

Oh, and I have a musician portrait that I was wondering where to put it, the Music dept or Love. I think it might fit in both, but don't tell my wife, she says Rafi is ugly, but I can smell a bit of jealousy. Anyway, Rafaelita is the drummer of the band I sponsored in Santiago some years ago, and I hadn't seen her for a few years, till I met her in December. I will post some of her music later on, the server where it is is down at the moment. I'll let her be an illustration for my signature in the meantime. (Click link on top of signature)

And I like Elito Reve too, tnx Yanet.
They do sound good.

Great video.Masucwas known in Cuba and saw the face roberto sonero which left him impressed with their sounds and guarachas noted that there was great potential both musically and commercially, these two genres of Cuban music back to new york.

For the first time in Toronto the Reve musical dynasty touches down. This is the fountain of the Cuban salsa… the band that most of the famous bands come from. The life and work of this musician and composer is still having great transcendency in the Cuban musical history.
