The US Senate has voted to lift several restrictions on relations with Cuba imposed by the Bush administration in 2004.

Cuban Americans will now be allowed to travel to the island once a year and to send more money to relatives there.

However, the Cuban authorities consider the lifting of travel restrictions an internal US matter, rather than an easing of the decades-old trade embargo which remains in place.

I don't have a problem with the new changes. I do hope they stick to their guns about not allowing Cuba credit however. With Obama though, I bet they do allow credit. They will probably try to sneak it the way they did this provision in the first place.

I guess the democrats don't want their policy changes debated.
