I believe she can get papers to say that the cubano is her boyfriend so she can stay at his house. How does she go about this? (Sorry, I know this question has been posted many times, but I've never actually needed to know the answer).
She has to go to immigration with the guy and the person who owns the house has to bring the title to the property (if it isn't the guy). After the interview, the have to return in a couple of days to get the answer.
It depends from city to city, whether they give permission for what is called an A2 or family visa, to people not married. Often they don't so that they can suck more money out of them renting an offically sanctioned place. Gotta stay on top of the morality of the cuban people, a gift of the revolution.

A2 visa's are issued the same time as the interview at immigration as described above. You don't wait a few days for the answer. You go to to the Bank and get $45 worth of stamps, go to immigration with the property owner (registered) of the address your staying at and it is rubber stamped, your visitor visa is then stamped A2.
