Hi folks, was just doing some planning to go back to Cuba, and came across this site. I got so excited, the old green screen!! I thought it had gone for ever. Having read through some of the old threads, it looks like this is only one in a number of green screens or transitional sites?

I still laugh at Cubakings Salmon posts, sheesh, the man hasn't changed a bit!!

Anyway, enough waffle. I have been to Cuba many times, but so far, not met up with anyone from the green screen there. Everytime I go to stay at P's house, calle neptuno, I seem to just miss various people - Yanet, I missed you by one night last time!

So, what plans has anyone got for late September onwards?
Oh me goodness. Another old timer back! Scream I am so excited!

Yup, this is the same ole GS that was back in the day of Thinkquest. I run the corral now.

I don't think we have too many posters here who actually visit Cuba. This has become sort of a sounding board for American Politics, but then again, hasn't that always been the case?

Rainbow told me P's daughter had been in a Maxim magazine ad but I could never find her. Drats...

Bueno, welcome home.....

P.S. Spread the word we found another home and are alive and well.......When we lost the other site, we lost tons of e-mails from the old-timers. Apparently, this site is not so easy to find. We tried posting over there at Thorntree about the new site but we were chewed up. jejeje. People are so sensitive....

To me this is really sad that this site has turned into a political place instead of a place writing about experiences of Cuba. Hopefully it will return to the old ways since so much is starting to change here and in Cuba.

There is one easy way to solve the whole political/travel part of Cuba forums. I have never understood why neither board has done this. Just add a political section. Then those who don't want to read about anything political, don't have to visit that section.

But, I think you have to admit......the politics of Cuba is what makes it really interesting to discuss. Without the politics, Cuba would just be another third world country with a nice beach and old cars.

I would bet however, those that criticize the political post would be the heaviest posters in the political section.

I have a copy of that edition of Maxim on my desk. WHAT AN ASS!!!!! Everytime I ask Mrs. Rainbow why her ass don't look like that, I have to duck a flying shoe. Smile Smile

Now is THAT an ass or what!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
rainbow, I watched a recording of her in the miss latino competion in Miami. It was quite strange to remember how she was as a youngster, braces and all, and to then see a confident young woman - of great beauty!

Almost had impure thoughts, but managed to curtail them, lol.

P & M should be very proud. All their kids have turned out great.

Settle down Rainbow, she is like your niece or something. Icon_wink

I agree she is a beauty and has a great figure and face, but the main thing about Elizabeth, she is a sweet, intelligent and lovely person. Very sincere and nice to everyone. Like atb, I knew her when she was still in braces, and really just sort of preparing herself for this next phase in her life.

The price to pay, was having to leave her family behind. But I know she never forgets where she came from and the support and love she has from her family.

Buenas suerte Elizabeth. You have made your family and friends very proud
I'll be there on the 25th in Santiago, why ?

In the original Thinkquest boards, the green screen was for travel related matters - other colours were for other things. I think the politics boards was white.

But politics crept into the other boards, and somehow only the greenscreen developed this life of its own.

Oh... I can hear the flames already. Smile Smile Smile

Yes, I'm a real, real Cuban, and I live to the south of Havana Province. That's the truth. I'm an English teacher.
Welcome, El Cubano.
