What does this have to do with Cuba? Not a damn thing. Icon_mrgreen Anywhooo, Last Sunday, I went to the brunch buffet at the Banff Springs Hotel in Banff with 2 of my sisters and a nephew. It was the first time that I had gone to the buffet, but I have been at the hotel a few times before. Here are some pics for those of you who have not had the opportunity of being in one of the most beautiful areas in the world, namely, Banff National Park here in Alberta.

The buffet is world class and consisted of many quality items from both a breakfast and a lunch point of view, depending on your wishes. Some examples were pork and beef tenderloin, beef medallions, salmon, halibut, shrimp, eggs benidict, baked Brie, bacon, freshly prepared omelettes, sausages, various salads, cheeses, fruits, deserts, freshly squeezed orange juice, etc., etc., etc.. It is not cheap however. The price is $39.50 plus tax plus tip, but you do get your money's worth. At least I did. I was so stuffed that I did not have another thing to eat all day. Icon_mrgreen

After lunch we then wondered around the hotel for a bit and then walked around the Banff town site for a couple of hours. As it was a Sunday, the sidewalks were very crowded, however we did get a table at a restaurant later in the day where we enjoyed a drink before returning to Calgary.

I hope you enjoy the pics. For those of you from Cuba or Florida, the large objects in the background are called mountains. Note that true mountains have no trees on the top. If they do, then they are merely hills. Icon_mrgreen

Nice post and great photos, makes me kind of homesick. I am from Calgary, and used to spend lots of time at Banff and Lake Louise. My sister worked at the ski resorts in those areas for many years. I don`t ski (used to cross-country ski), but hiking in those mountains is a real treat.

If I could afford the train ride from Vancouver to Calgary...and if anyone can, give it a try, it is spectacular, especially this time of year.

Back when I was a kid, and drank.. I stayed at the Banff springs for a convention. I was with a contractor who was slated to go to Everest on some climbing team.

Anyhow. ...

3:00 am. Bar girls.. I made it to the second floor (oustide the building). Buddy made it to the roof line.

Security removed us from the property so we had to sneak back to get to our room.
