But I don't get it. The dudes at Cubamania say that Cuba is a paradise now with all the changes brother Raul is making. Why would anyone want to leave paradise, and pay $10,000 apiece to do so?

Seems to me the only changes is the population of CUba and the U.S. Cuba is getting smaller and the U.S. larger.

LMAO

I just posted it a CM.

Place is empty AK. Just the same folks agreeing with each other.

Any decent looking rafts left on the beach Pepin?
I got a buyer in Caracas for any proven seaworthy vessel.
My father in law and mother in law are in Cuba right now. Cripes, I wish they would stay there....sorry, I drifted...

So, I am sure I will hear all the news going on there in the good ole never changing town of Candelaria Pinar Del Rio.

Candelaria, pueblo oscuro, si el mundo tubiera nalgas, candelaria fuera el ojo........ (a cuban please finish this sentence).

There are a lot of countries that people leave in order to come to the United States. Probably every country on this planet. Doesn't mean they don't love their country. Just means for the moment that there are more opportunities here. Usually financial. Pretty arrogant to think that every one comes to this country because they hate their country.

It's not that they hate their country, they hate their government.

There are also not to many countries where people risk their lives on an everyday basis to escape. Cubans risk their lives to escape that mess. It has been said, those that try it on "rafts" there are more who do not make, than make it.

It is one thing to hop on an airliner to start a new life somewhere else. It is quite another to hop on a rickity raft that has no business in a swimming pool, much less on 90 miles of shark infested Florida straits.

Big difference.

That Makes a total of 107 since Wednesday of Last week, they have being arriving in groups of 12-13, 23,27, 40 and so on , news from inside is the repression is very evident and the CDRs have started to watch and report once again any "suspicious' activity and private conversations, meaning the ears dropping is back on.
I know a guy who tried. Sold his apartment and whatever else he could to raise the money. Arrangements to meet a boat were made. There were too many cubans waiting for the boat and when it arrived, they all piled in and the boat sunk. Then the police arrived and he escaped by running into the bushes.
